Happy Shrove Tuesday everyone!
I made pancakes for breakfast...yummy!
You know what this means....lent starts tomorrow! Now I usually just attempt to give up chocolate for lent but this year I thought I would set myself a few challenges:
- A swatch a day for 40 days
- An hour exercise each day for 40 days
- No chocolate! (uh-oh) for 40 days
Here are the polishes I've picked out! As you can see there are actually only 33 bottles here. I thought the last week leading up to Easter I would do Easter themed nail art. I've ordered some really cute nail tattoos off eBay to look forward to :)
So let the swatching begin. And what better way than with a bit of a flash back to spring 2010...
OPI Alice in Wonderland Collection
As I unfortunately only have 3 of the four from the range (I'm missing Off With Her Red...but from what I've seen this is the least exciting of the collection) so I will only be swatching these ones.
Mad as a Hatter. Probably the most crazy polish I have ever come across. This is insane. Its a clear based multicoloured rainbow glitter - the main colours that stand out to me are purple, silver, blue, green and black but there are just too many colours happening here. I love it. This colour was sold out everywhere when it first came out. I was lucky enough to get a hold of one but I remember the bidders on eBay going crazy for this bad boy. Such an awesome colour. The only drawback; it is practically impossible to remove. You really have to set aside at least half an hour just to remove it.---
Absolutely Alice. Bright blue glitter (silver and gold glitter through). Like Mad as a Hatter this is also super glittery and really hard to remove. I do love this colour too but it is a little messy with application - perhaps this is because I've loved this polish quite a bit and it may be heading towards the end of its life...but who knows. Also difficult to remove but not as bad as hatter. Overall a really unique and fun colour.---
Thanks so Muchness. A gorgeous red shimmer with a definite pink shimmer finish to it. I remember how much I loved this polish when I first got it. This is the first time I've brought it back out in a long time but I guess I have a lot of reds now so it has a bit of competition. This reminds me of Rimmel's Exotica but with pink instead of gold shimmer through it...similar formula.

And I couldn't do an Alice in Wonderland post without some nail art! I bought these cute tattoos on eBay for a friend's Alice in Wonderland themed 21st in December...never got a chance to swatch them properly back then so I had another go today:
So wish me luck for the next 40 days - I'm excited!! Until tomorrow :)
