I have to be honest, I had a bit of a disaster happen to me today - I broke a nail! I realise this sounds very superficial, but as a nail blogger this is possibly one of the most awful things that can happen to me! I was out at work all day (inconveniently not at my job at priceline!) so I had to rush there after I finished and pick up some nail repair glue. Now that the situation is all under control (phew!) I'm ready to share with you my post for today....Autumn leaves!
As of yesterday, Autumn is here in Australia! The change in season really hit us yesterday with dreadful weather which reminded me that my summer was officially over :( so I thought I'd give some Autumn leaves a try to cheer myself up...
Here's the final product:
Hmmmmm....still not sure how I feel about these! haha. But I had fun experimenting anyway! What I did discover, though, was an awesome and simple nail art design that I stumbled across as I was playing around with the background colours.
I used the following colours (plus Black Onyx on top):
Basically, I started off by painting half of each nail with Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? and then did the same on the other half of the nail using Need Sunglasses?, letting the polishes overlap each other in the middle of the nail.
It created this really cool pattern and orange colour in the centre! So of course....I kept going and did another coat. I just loved how this turned out so I got excited and took lots of photos for you:
I then added the veins of the leaves using my nail art brushes:
aaaaaand voilà!
I also then added another coat of Y'all Come Back to make them a little more 'leafy'. I much preferred them before this step when you can see the background coming through but I thought I'd share this with you anyway:
