Day 38 - OPI Nantucket Mist vs. OPI Malaysian Mist - swatches, reviews and comparison

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you're all as relieved as I am to finally get a few days off. I feel like this has been a super stressful week (well for me at least) so it will be nice to catch up on some swatching and other jobs I have to do. Let me remind you that my Easter swatches are starting on Sunday! Which means that today is the second last post before then. I'll have to think of something really creative for tomorrow's post. For today I thought I would do a comparison of two of my "mists"...what's that you say? haha! I realised today that I have two semi similar polishes with semi similar names; OPI Nantucket Mist and Malaysian Mist. It's funny because I actually bought these together last year when I was in Sydney, not realising they both have the name "Mist". Anyway, I remember at the time I was after a natural/nude polish that was orange toned rather than pink toned. And here is what I found . . .

OPI Nantucket Mist

A dusty peach/rose pink with a slightly orange/coral tone to it. Much pinker than I expected when I bought it - I do really like the colour though. I think it's a little too pinky for my skin tone but it's a really quick drying creme with a lovely smooth formula. Slightly streaky with one coat but perfectly smooth and opaque with 2 or 3. Great classy colour for work.

OPI Malaysian Mist

A sheer peachy nude with high gloss finish. Very very sheer but I love the colour I've achieved here with 4 coats. It does take a while to dry if you do four coats though so be prepared for this. With nudes, I much prefer to get the shade that you see in the bottle but this is often hard because a lot of nudes are also very sheer. I'm pretty impressed with how this turned out but the formula wasn't amazing and, as I said, took ages to dry. Sort of similar to OPI Bubble Bath but with more of a peach tone to it. Lovely!

Nantucket Mist vs. Malaysian Mist

As you can see, Nantucket Mist is significantly richer and darker than Malaysian Mist and with quite a peachy/pinky tone to it. Overall, neither were exactly what I was after at the time - still on the look out for this polish I have in mind (if you know of one that fits the description please let me know!). But I am very happy with both polishes. I would probably be more inclined to wear Malaysian Mist as an every day nude but Nantucket Mist does dry a lot quicker so it's been a really good option for me in the past when I've been in a hurry.

Until tomorrow! :)
