Day 46 - Last day of Lent!!

Happy Saturday everyone! Today is the last day of Lent which means I have officially completed my challenge!! Cannot believe that it is all over! Today I've swatched the Easter nail art tattoos that I mentioned I bought off eBay a while ago.

EASTER NAIL ART # 6

I started off with a base colour that I have fallen in love with since doing these Easter nail art posts:

China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint

A gorgeous creamy, pastel mint green. Perfect for a base colour. I then added some Easter basket nail art tattoos:

Very cute pictures!

But that's not all for today...I then tried out some more tattoos. I started with a base of Alpine Snow, by far my favourite white polish!

As you may have noticed, this white has been my staple white for almost every one of my nail art posts. It is such a pure white and perfectly opaque and the formula is great. For some reason when I painted on the first coat for the base for the next nail art tattoos it just went on so perfectly even. Perhaps I'm having some good luck today after my awfully frustrating polish situation yesterday where no matter what I did, the middle nail just wouldn't turn out right. I then added these nail tattoo tips that I also bought off eBay. So cute...check it out!

The stickers come like this below and I just cut them each to the shape of my nails...

These nail art tattoos are really easy to use but I think I much prefer to do my own nail art now. They are really cute, don't get me wrong, but at the time I bought them I hadn't had very much experience with freehand nail art so these were what I was using a lot of the time for nail art. Since then I've had a lot of practice with these posts I have been doing and honestly I much prefer to do my own nail art. But I still had to use them because they are so cute!!

Although the challenge is over, I will still do a special Easter post tomorrow. And I will continue posting as often as I can (perhaps not every day though like the last 46 days!!) so make sure you stay tuned. I have loved this experience and learnt a lot. I also want to thank my amazing friends, family and followers who have made this all possible and have supported me every step of the way. I know I have annoyed my family a LOT by constantly doing my nails and being a bit grumpy at times from all of the stress (a bit is probably an understatement) but they have been so incredible and encouraging along the way.

I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow for Easter Sunday!! Lots of love to all of you beautiful people who read my blog I cannot thank you enough!!

Day 45 - Stained glass window nail art!

Happy Good Friday all. Hope you've had a nice relaxing day like I have and have had the chance to reflect a bit on what this day means to you. I was inspired this morning by the stained glass windows at church and thought it would be a good idea for today's nail art. Check it out:

Stained Glass Window inspired Nail Art

You may remember the Autumn leaf nail art that I did a while ago. I used used the same technique to achieve the base colours here by using two different colours for each nail; That's Hot Pink and OPI Need Sunglasses? on every second nail, alternating with Green-wich Village and OPI Need Sunglasses? on the others. I love how this looks!!

The base colours (above from left to right): That's Hot! Pink, OPI Need Sunglasses and Green-wich Village. I then used a nail art stencil plate for the black pattern over the top with a black Konad polish. Here's the plate I used (bottom stencil):

And now for some more swatches . . .

I had a lot of trouble with my middle finger for some reason. It just didn't want to work and by the fourth try I gave up. I realise the black has bled a little and the art is a little wonky and off but I just got so impatient with myself and waiting for the polish to dry before I could do the stamp over the top so this will have to do! Please just disregard this nail! Apart from that, they turned out pretty well. Not sure how much they resemble stained glass windows but I liked the idea and wanted to give it a go nonetheless.

Only two more posts to go! Hope you are having a nice Easter weekend and I'll see you tomorrow!
