Happy Wednesday all! I've been really inspired over the last few days from nail art I've seen floating around the twittersphere. One in particular stood out to me yesterday - Polish You Pretty's "spray painted" nail art. Amazing. Today I was sporting OPI's Did It On 'Em from this year's Nicki Minaj Collection (check out my swatches and review here) and I thought this would be a great base colour because it's so interesting and 'funky' haha - this is the best word I can find to describe this colour! Anyway, check out the final product:
Spray Painted Nail Art
Colours I used (from left to right):
- OPI Did It On 'Em
- OPI Pink Flamenco
- OPI Fly
- OPI Black Onyx
- China Glaze Millennium
So here's what I did . . .
I started off with 3 base coats of Did It On 'Em:
Then, using the brush from the polish bottle, I added random splotches of Pink Flamenco:
Then the same with Fly and Millennium:
I then added slightly larger black splotches with Black Onyx. This time, with a fine nail art brush I painted thin lines down from the black splotches to create 'drips' of paint. Finally, with a small-tipped dotting tool I added a few small black dots randomly across the nails to look like splatter marks:
Thanks again to the girls over at Polish You Pretty for the awesome nail art inspiration!
