Lest we forget - poppies for Anzac Day

Happy Anzac Day all!! For my international viewers, Anzac Day is the national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought in Gallipoli during World War 1. This public holiday has been significantly important to me for many years because as some may not know, I play the trumpet (fun fact, I know) and every year during school I used to march in the Anzac day march. Sooo for the occasion I thought I would try out some poppy nail art as poppies are a symbol of remembrance. Check out the final product:

So here's what I used: (from left to right):

- Greenwich Village
- Colour So Hot It Berns
- Black Onyx
- Peace, Baby
- OPI Need Sunglasses?

Here's a quick tutorial of how I did these:

OPI Peace, Baby

I started off with 3 coats of OPI's Peace Baby as a base. Then, using a fine nail art brush and OPI Color So Hot It Berns, I painted on the shapes of the poppy petals. I tried to vary these for effect:

I then used a dotting tool to add the yellow, OPI Need Sunglasses? to the poppies:

Then, using a fine dotting tool and Black Onyx I dotted the black onto the poppies:

I then painted the stems with a fine nail art brush and Greenwich Village:

I then added "Lest We Forget" on the thumb, along with two more poppies:

and a few more swatches . . .

Hope everyone has had a great day and for those Aussies reading this I hope you enjoyed a day off! See you soon :)
