Warming up with some favourite OPI brights and fun nail art ideas for summer

Happy Wednesday friends! I am glad to say that I am officially over the hump of what seems to be one of the busiest weeks of the year so far! But not to worry, only 13 more days until I am finished with my exams and essays for uni this semester and only 25 days until I leave for the U.S! (not that I'm counting or anything...) So this week I'm meant to be preparing for exams/frantically finishing off essays but there is just so much study a girl can do without going a little insane (it's already starting to happen if you haven't noticed haha) so blogging sounds like a much better plan for tonight.

This morning as I was going through my early morning don't-want-to-get-up-for-work ritual which involves scrolling through twitter and facebook feeds to see all of the overseas online activity from overnight (one of the benefits of living down under: so much exciting stuff to read when lying half asleep in bed first thing in the morning with one eye open), I noticed OPI had posted a photo of some Brights staples for summer and it inspired me to do a blog post of these:

The colours OPI featured today on their fb page (from left to right)

- Mod About You
- Need Sunglasses?
- Gargantuan Green Grape
- That's Hot! Pink
- A Grape Fit!

While it's freezing down here in Melbourne, the thought of trading Australian winter for US summer is getting me through at the moment so I thought I'd revisit some old summer favourites (4 out of the 5 that OPI posted - still lacking in Mod About You atm but it's on my wishlist - and one other oldie but goodie) and some nail art ideas that I've done with these in the past. Instead of Mod I've done Pandamonium Pink - probably my closest colour/formula to Mod About You. Well as far as I know at least. Check them out:

2. OPI Need Sunglasses?

3. OPI Gargantuan Green Grape

4. OPI That's Hot! Pink

I haven't done any nail art with this one yet because I'm swatching this for the first time! A bright watermelon/cherry pink with high gloss finish. This is 4 coats here. You need quite a few because it is semi jelly/cream (not quite sure if it's jelly-ish enough to call it a jelly but definitely close!) Gorgeous bright pink and not just good for summer. I'm really enjoying it at the moment for something a little different for a change. Don't have time for any crazy nail art ideas tonight but perhaps tomorrow . . .

5. OPI A Grape Fit!

That's all I have time for tonight folks. For those sharing this cold weather in Australia with me, I hope this has warmed you up a little. And for those overseas enjoying summer right now I hope this gives you some nailspiration for the lovely hot weather! Enjoy the rest of the week all and I'll see you soon :)
