Rainbow Balloon Nail Art!

Happy Thursday all! I did these balloons the other day after seeing an awesome design from another blogger, Top Coat It, here. I thought they were super cute and had to try! Check out mine:

Balloon Nail Art

As a base I used (yet again) my favourite white at the moment, OPI Alpine Snow. . .
Seriously the best white for nail art!!

Balloon Colours Used (L-R):
- OPI Big Apple Red
- OPI Ogre The Top Blue
- OPI Greenwich Village
- OPI Need Sunglasses?

Also, for the strings on the balloons I used OPI's French Quarter For Your Thoughts - I was going to use black then thought this might be a little too harsh. The warmer tone of French Quarter turned out to be a good choice.

I love the colour combination here and how well they turned out! It was kinda tricky to paint the balloon shape as I was painting towards the cuticle (rather than towards the tips like I usually would) so it was a difficult angle and I found the thick OPI brushes didn't want to work in that direction. I ended up doing quite a few coats of each colour until the shape was how I wanted and the balloons looked glossy and '3D', like real balloons. I then touched up the edges with finer nail art brushes if they were a little uneven to make them completely round. One of my favourite designs I've tried by far!

Hope you enjoy these and have a great end to the week! Not long til the weekend, see you soon :)
